About this video
A Flyntlok University video on the item admin editors, found under the wrench at the top right. These settings control how Flyntlok tracks, counts, buys and sells each item.
Recorded in February 2020 on an earlier version of Flyntlok. With releases about every two weeks since, some screens have changed.
- Item types. Inventory, service or non-inventory, which decide whether Flyntlok tracks stock and asks for a serial or trace number at the sale.
- Count buckets. Physical inventory buckets set how often an item gets counted, every 60 days in the highest bucket.
- PO exceptions. Back order, discontinued and substitution, with a prompt for the superseding part.
- Units and groups. Units like a 10-pack with a default conversion, and item groups that add several items to a sale at once.
- Fee types, departments and divisions. More ways to book fees and organize your inventory.

Book a walkthroughWhat do item types control in Flyntlok?
Whether Flyntlok tracks inventory for an item, whether it can be sold and whether it's traceable. A traceable item prompts for a serial or trace number at the point of sale.
How does Flyntlok decide how often to count a part?
Physical inventory buckets set how often an item gets counted, based on how often it turns. In this video, items in the highest bucket are counted every 60 days.
What is an item group?
A set of items you can add to a sale at once. Search the item group on the point of sale, press Enter and every item in the group lands on the sales order.
