Huge growth. Same team.

How Alaska’s Delta Leasing grew revenue 50% without adding accounting or admin staff

Delta Leasing had outgrown a platform built for small rental shops, and people were doing the same job twice. After moving to Flyntlok and Sage Intacct, revenue grew 50% and the team stayed the same size.

Growing fast across Alaska

Delta Leasing was expanding rapidly across Alaska, managing a growing mix of commercial fleet contracts and retail rentals. But the systems supporting that growth hadn’t kept pace.

As operations scaled, the team faced inefficiencies that slowed down everything from billing to inventory tracking. The limits of an outdated platform, originally built for small rental shops, became increasingly clear.

Doing the same job twice

“We had people doing the same job twice in two different places,” says Erin Byrne, CFO of Delta Leasing. “And even then, we couldn’t trust the data.”

Behind the scenes, the inefficiencies were adding up. The software lacked cloud access, real-time visibility, and the core functionality a modern dealer needs. As a result, teams were stuck in manual mode:

  • Invoices were created and emailed one at a time through Outlook
  • Reporting required exporting to Excel and hours of spreadsheet work
  • Bank reconciliations and asset tracking were done entirely by hand

Out in the field, things were just as difficult. Technicians used outdated tools not built for mobile or remote work. Repair orders were slow to complete. Parts inventory was outsourced. New assets had to be entered twice, once for operations and once for finance.

The breaking point came when Delta was required to upgrade to another legacy system that still wasn’t cloud-based.

From a bicycle to a spaceship

Delta needed a software stack that could support high-volume operations, simplify reporting, and eliminate the manual effort draining the team. It implemented Flyntlok for daily operations and Sage Intacct for financial management. Together, the two platforms formed a modern, cloud-based system connecting what happens in the field to what happens in the books.

“It was like going from riding a bicycle to flying a spaceship,” Erin says.

Flyntlok gave Delta’s team the tools to manage rentals, service, and parts without friction. Technicians could complete repair orders faster. Inventory tracking moved in-house. New units were added once and synced across the system.

Sage Intacct took on the financial side, automating reconciliations, improving reporting, and giving Delta real-time visibility across locations, assets, and transaction types without relying on spreadsheets. Its dimensional reporting lets the finance team analyze performance across business lines and asset categories.

Rental assets created in accounting sync with operations. Invoices and payments move directly into the general ledger. Data entry happens once: clean, accurate, and on time.

Huge growth, same team

The shift to a fully integrated Flyntlok and Sage Intacct stack gave Delta Leasing the visibility, automation, and efficiency its old systems couldn’t deliver. Revenue grew by 50% without adding accounting or admin staff. Billing was automated, accelerating cash flow. Real-time reporting replaced spreadsheets and manual reconciliations, and parts inventory came back in-house, cutting outsourcing costs and improving control.

“We’ve had huge growth, and we’ve kept the same team,” Erin says. “That wouldn’t have been possible before.”

Delta’s finance team can now track performance across the business with far greater precision, by location, asset type, or rental category. Field technicians move faster. Finance gets accurate numbers without manual cleanup. And leadership has the visibility to make better decisions, faster.

A partner that keeps up

With commercial and fleet operations now centralized, Delta is exploring how to bring its retail rental business onto the same platform. Retail rentals currently rely on a separate point-of-sale system that doesn’t integrate with accounting, creating many of the same manual challenges Delta has already solved on the operations side.

What gives Delta confidence to expand is how responsive and adaptable the Flyntlok team has been. From day one, Flyntlok has worked closely with the team, responding quickly to support tickets and customizing the system to meet specific needs, including complex tax rules unique to Alaska.

“They’ve been incredibly responsive. Any time we’ve needed a change or had a question, they’ve jumped in.”

For Delta Leasing, this isn’t just a software solution. It’s a system, and a group of partners, it trusts to evolve with the business.
