A family dealership in a crowded market

For more than three decades, Alan’s Lawn & Garden Center has served homeowners, landscapers, and more than 200 city and government agencies across Southern California as a trusted multi-location outdoor power equipment dealership.

In that time, the team built a strong reputation for reliability and service. But in a region with ten dealerships within ten miles, staying competitive meant working smarter, not harder.

Owner Paul Sullivan wanted a system that connected sales, service, and online orders in one place.

800 products, two systems, and a lot of double entry

Alan’s used Shopify for online sales and Ideal for daily operations, but the two systems did not communicate. Every update, sale, or price change required manual entry, creating extra work and confusion across the team.

“I’ve got 800 products on my website,” Paul says. “Trying to maintain what I have in stock and what my cost is when it changes three times a year is a lot of work.”

The team was stuck with duplicate data entry between Shopify and the DMS, manual product management for more than 800 items, and limited visibility into inventory and sales. That was time that could have been spent serving customers.

As orders grew, so did the workload. Paul knew it was time to replace manual processes with a single, connected system built for modern dealerships.

One system for sales, service and online orders

Switching to Flyntlok gave Alan’s one connected platform for sales, service, and online orders. What once required multiple systems and manual updates now happens automatically.

“Having inventory and pricing automatically updated because my people are already doing that work in Flyntlok is what I wanted.”

Online orders now flow from Shopify directly into Flyntlok, eliminating duplicate entry and keeping data consistent. Inventory, pricing, and sales stay in sync across every channel.

A partner that builds what the dealership needs

When Paul needed a widget to track repair turnaround times, Flyntlok’s team built it within days. Fast responses and practical solutions turned Flyntlok into a true partner.

Alan’s is also exploring Flyntlok’s AI tools for repair estimating, to help technicians create accurate quotes faster.

“You guys are light years ahead in responding to problems. It makes me happy to know I made the right choice switching to Flyntlok.”

A dealership that runs smarter and serves faster

Since moving to Flyntlok, Alan’s has turned disconnected systems into one connected operation. Online orders flow in from Shopify, inventory stays accurate, and repair tracking is faster and more transparent.

The team spends less time managing data and more time focusing on customers. Communication is clearer, turnaround times are quicker, and every part of the business works together in real time.

By streamlining its workflow, Alan’s strengthened what sets it apart in a crowded market: exceptional customer service, and the confidence to grow with a partner that innovates as fast as it does.
