Creating a Part Purchase Plan
Part Purchase Plans allow users to preemptively list and organize all Purchase Order (PO) Requests by filterable classifications. For example, multiple part purchase requests can be categorized to a single vendor. The two ways to create a Part Purchase Plan are by using the Item Dashboard where the user manually creates order requests of specific items and the Point of Sale, an automatic process when there’s insufficient Quantity on Hand.[Add pictures/videos]
Creating a Part Purchase Plan from the Item Dashboard
One way to create a Part Purchase Plan is from the item dashboard. Steps to create a Part Purchase Plan this way include:
- From the item dashboard, click the Order Item button at the top right
- Once clicked, a pop-up page appears prompting to choose the quantity of ordered purchasing units
- A note will include which location the order will be delivered to
- After clicking the Plan Order button, a notification will confirm that an order plan was created
- See [link] to access the purchase plan
The item dashboard includes a Location and Quantity on Hand section that lists all quantities ordered by location and total amount. If a Part Purchase Plan is already created, the total quantity queued in purchase plans is listed as pending in the ordered column.

Creating a Part Purchase Plan from the Point of Sale
Another way to create a Part Purchase Plan is from the Point of Sale. The Part Purchase Plan is automatically created when a completed sale order has parts with insufficient quantities on hand. Once ordered, the quantity queued to a purchase plan, is the difference between the quantity sold and the quantity on hand. [Add pictures/videos]
Viewing the Purchase Plan
To view the purchase plan, go to, in the navigation menu, Parts and then To Be Ordered - Single Vendor. On this page, search using either the SO Reference # (if created in the Point of Sale), or Item #. The searches will filter for a manageable list of Part Purchase Requests. See the [next article] that describes the Part Purchases page in more detail.[Add pictures/videos]
